AMARTEC MOORING ABSORBER CAN HAVE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS :
Mooring line absorber for mooring of ships on pontoons.
It is installed directly on the mooring apparatus of the pontoon, and avoids the use of chains usually used with standard absorbers. It will not damage the mooring apparatus.
Use of mooring device:
For marinas exposed to strong wind and for mooring of big ships, it is possible to use the Amartec device as a stabiliser.
Stabilisers have several functions and advantages. The avoice lateral shifting of ships, distribute the efforts on the mooring lines, secure the docking of ships by having a double mooring function.
ANCHORAGE ABSORBER FUNCTION:
On docks, put between the mooring cleat and the end of the mooring line, this absorber will guarantee a secure and comfortable docking without any grinding noise, by limiting chain bumps and by reducing the risk of sliding when the chain is subject to brief tightness.
OPERATING RECOMMANDATIONS AND SECURITY RULES FOR SHIP MOORING:
Product operation recommandations:
– The product is equiped with protective sheats, in order not to be damaged by an aggressive anchorage point, which can lead to deterioration of the junction rope.
– The product should not be under permanent tightness, because it would lead to a premature wear, and to a tightness in all the mooring devices.
– In order to preserve the absorbers, you can wash them with freshwater when you wash your ship.
In case of a long term mooring, apply following security rules:
– It is recommended to double the mooring lines, either by mounting a security mooring line in parallel with more suppleness in order to let a working amplitude to the absorber, either by using a double crossed mooring line which will work as a stabiliser. This function will be more efficient with additional absorbers.
-Do not let a ship moored to close to the dock. The recommended distances are depending on the regions, on the wind exposure and on the swell existing in the marina. In every instance, it is recommended to moore the ship with a sufficient distance to the dock, and not to let a permanent tightness in the mooring system.
